Poppy seeds or Khuskhus are said to be effective body coolant by Ayurveda.It helps reducing body heat and cools the body .That is why I make it a point to have this curry often in summer specially.

Poppy seeds are rich in dietary fibre, the seeds are good source of Vitamin B. They also contain thiamine, folic acid, niacin, pyridoxine, riboflavin, etc. They are also rich in minerals like zinc, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, etc.
Its good antioxidant,and bears good disease preventing,health promoting properties.
And if you are pregnant never forget it to include it in your diet before and after delivery.Along with so many awesome qualities it helps a lot in hair fall too.ladies …Another reason for you to consume poppy seeds.
The Khuskhus Ki Sabji is simple to make and to enhance volume you need to add lots of onions into it.
Poppy seeds 200gms
Onion 4 big sized and finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste 1 Tablespoon seeds
Cumin and mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
Tomato finely chopped 1
Oil 2 1/2 tablespoon
Bay leaf 1
Chilli powder 1 1/2 tablespoon(can be less)
Turmeric powder 1teaspoon
All ground spice powder (Garam masala) 1 tablespoon
Salt as required
1.Soak poppy seeds in enough water for 10 -15 minutes and Grind in a paste.
2.Heat oil in pan and temper it with bay leaf,cumin and mustard seeds.
3.After crackling of seeds add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste and stir once.
4.Immediately add Khuskhus paste and roast it till it becomes golden brown.
5.Add ,Chilli powder,turmeric powder and chopped tomatoes and salt let it cook for 2mins.
6.Add garam masala and 2 cups of water and let it cook till you have a consistent gravy.
7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapattis.
