Lush green garlic..when it comes to market in winter I never miss addling them in my basket.We use spring onions in many of the recipes but these young garlic always stole my heart.I added them in very familiar moon pakadas and it was an absolute hit,believe me.
These pakodas can be served with green chutney and not to say are very nutritious.An easy ,less time consuming quick evening snack this is.Moong dal though you have to soak it for few hours if you forget to get it soaked ,Soak it in boiling water and leave it for 20 mins.,it can be readily used.
Moong dal(Green gram) 200 Gms
Green Garlic leaves 150 Gms
Green chillies 2-3
Rice flour 2 tablespoon(optional)
Caraway seeds 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1 Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
1.Soak moong dal at least for 6-7 hours.Drain all the water and grind to form coarse batter.
2. Add finely chopped green garlic leaves and mix well.
3.Add,caraway seeds,salt ,turmeric and rice flour and mix well.
4.Heat oil in pan and deep fry small balls of this batter.
5,Serve with green chutney .
